Job Description

We are looking for a talented Global Supplier Quality Director to join our team specializing in Quality for our Distribution Business Segment (DBU) from your home office with travel to suppliers and Cummins site locations.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

* Serve as the Distribution Business (DBU) Supplier Quality – One Quality transformation representative on the supplier quality working team to define and implement initiatives.

* Define supplier quality strategic needs and interface with corporate supplier quality category leaders to resolve supplier quality issues experienced at service branches, upfit centers, and manufacturing rebuild centers.

* Leads the selection and development to ensure defect-free performance of the business’ supplier base. Develops people capabilities, processes, and tools to continuously improve the critical supplier quality function.

* Oversees supplier quality resources for new product introduction and current products to reduce supplier-related issues, improve process capabilities, and ensure timely project launches.

* Establishes effective deployment of relevant purchasing and supplier processes for key components across a variety of programs, commodity resourcing, and other purchasing and supplier activities.

* Manages project budgets and collaborates with leadership to develop long-term strategic quality plans.

* Works closely with functional area management to ensure awareness of ongoing quality control issues, supply base, design considerations, and other supplier influenced considerations.

* Improve the process for supplier selection and management, new product implementation, and business sourcing on a continuous basis; develops and manages supplier quality reporting, service level agreements, measures, and methods.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

* Drive implementation of systems and processes in the DBU to track and monitor product non-conformances caused by suppliers. (SharePoint Material Non-Conformance, Cummins Quality Management System, Supplier Information Management, etc.)

* Ensure that adequate SQE resources are available globally to support DBU new product programs.

* Serve on program teams or MRG’s (management review groups) to represent DBU supplier quality.

* Work with other business unit quality leaders to resolve product non-conformances coming from our internal product business units and logistics warehouses.

* Assist with escalations coming from balance of plant issues raised by external customers.

* Serve as Chief of Staff for DBU Manufacturing and Quality leadership team.

Education/Experience

* College, university, or equivalent degree required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: 121.9K – 162.5K

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
