Job Description

Ball State University’s Division of Online and Strategic Learning welcomes applications for a dynamic, creative, and team-oriented Instructional Consultant who can leverage research-based best practices and data to inform programming and assessment.

The Instructional Consultant is a full-time position focused on championing instructional support for courses and programs, and works within a team of consultants who continuously drive and improve face-to-face, online, and hybrid learning environments.

 

The Instructional Consultant contributes to our internal community of inquiry by maintaining and sharing contemporary knowledge on teaching and learning, instructional technologies, and faculty development. Eager and well equipped to prepare and present their knowledge to a wide range of campus stakeholders in multiple modalities, the Instructional Consultant upholds a positive spirit of teamwork.

 

The Teaching Innovation Team, a part of the Division of Online and Strategic Learning at Ball State University, provides best practices, instructional development, and consultation in content development and innovative learning experiences. We aim to understand the factors that contribute to learner success and optimize for a range of metrics.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field. At least three years of professional experience in designing university-level courses; experience with a learning management system (LMS); experience evaluating effectiveness in reaching course/program objectives; professional experience leveraging data and writing reports which work to improve learning experiences; experience consulting with a variety of clients. Engaging presentation skills.
