DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for a talented Senior Packaging Engineer to join our team specializing in Logistics for our Corporate Business Segment in Fridley, Minnesota.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Experienced Packaging Engineer who provides work leadership and training to entry level Packaging Engineers.
• Designs and develops environmentally sustainable packaging solutions through the design and implementation of returnable and reuse applications.
• Optimizes packaging performance with attention to customer requirements, operations integration, safety, part specifications, packaging materials, vendor relations, and other functional requirements.
• Applies specialized knowledge of engineering principles in the design, analysis and release of packaging systems. Provides technical expertise for Value Package Introduction (VPI) and current product programs.
• Works with cross-functional stakeholders, customers, and suppliers to specify design requirements for expendable and returnable packaging for new finished products and raw material components.
• Works with cross-functional stakeholders, customers, and suppliers to identify and deliver improvements to packaging which improve quality, reduce total cost, and reduce waste in line with organizational goals.
• Drives consistent results by applying business acumen in decision making and cost-based analysis. Actively seeks new ways to grow and be challenged using both formal and informal development channels

REQUIRED SKILLS:
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline. Packaging Engineering or Packaging Science degree is highly preferred. Plus 5-7 years of on the job experience including experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with leadership and set work goals with objectives and cross leader collaboration.
• On the job experience establishing and pursuing work goals and driving continuous improvement.
• Must have on the job experience in packaging and design for new product development.

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
