Full-Time Senior 3D Animator
Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to work with a growing team of Artists, Animators, and Designers for an exciting new project? Do you have a passion for bringing compelling characters to life? Are you a champion of gameplay performance and design readability?
Our team at Stoic, 4-time BAFTA nominated independent video game company, is seeking a Senior 3D Animator for the development of our next project.
In this position, you will work directly with our Lead Animator and extended team of highly creative Designers, Artists, and Engineers across Stoic. You will ensure that our project is delivered on-time and on-budget while maintaining a high-level of quality.
What You Will Do:
- Create high quality character, creature, and environmental animations
- Work closely with Combat Design Team during the prototype process to create effective choreography
- Work with the Lead Animator and Combat Design Team to ensure stylistic consistency and gameplay responsiveness
- Serve as an active participant in team art discussions, critiques, and reviews
- Verify effectiveness of animations by playing the game regularly and taking part in team playtests
Need to Have:
- A minimum of 5+ years creating hand-keyed animation for video games
- Experience creating animation in combat title
- Experience crafting character animation using Maya matching an established style
- Solid game design awareness and an exceptional game design-oriented collaborator
- Working knowledge of Unreal Engine 4
Nice to Have:
- Scripting experience in Mel, Python, etc.
- Experience with 3D modeling, texturing, or rigging
- Skill in one or more related disciplines such as illustration, animation, or technical art
- Previously shipped AAA PC or console game using the Unreal engine
- Previously shipped AAA mobile, PC, or console titles as an animator
