Full-Time Director of Transportation
Job Description
Job Summary: The Director of Transportation will design & implement the home delivery operation for Bud & Mary’s (B&M). They will be responsible for managing both the courier and delivery-related operations in addition to all aspects of the company’s internal & external product transporting operations. This position directly reports to the President of B&M.
What You’ll Do:
- Hire, train, and manage a team of delivery and transport-related staff in conjunction with the Director of Administration
- Analyze metrics to create reports and make data driven decisions/recommendations regarding cost, service areas, product availability, and customer needs to meet and exceed targets for growth, quality, cost and time management
- Be able to identify process bottlenecks and implement solutions in a timely manner
- Manage all aspects of the Transportation budget and control expenses effectively
- Develop, monitor, and report on operating costs within functional areas, alerting executive management of cost and labor in instances of overruns. Make recommendations and implement solutions to related challenges
- Ensure that B&M complies with all Federal and State transportation regulations
- Evaluate and enforce safety protocols & procedures
- Create and update SOPs throughout the company for all aspects relating to home delivery, dispatching and internal/external transportation
- Take leadership of fleet management, routine and non-routine maintenance, and vehicle research, selections, and customizations in adherence with CCC-compliant standards
- Provide feedback, coaching and performance management via direct reports as necessary
- Maintain and exemplify the company’s mission, core competencies and values while maintaining high ethical standards and professionalism

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Prior experience in a Transportation role with knowledge and experience in logistics required
- Experience in a cannabis or otherwise highly regulated industries preferred
- Management experience in transportation and logistics industry with emphasis on staffing, organization and employee motivation
- Prior experience with transportation management systems required
- Working knowledge of basic computer systems and Google Suite required
- Working knowledge of Federal and State transportation regulations required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience managing a team required, 5 years preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage high stress situations
- Flexible and adaptable problem solver
- Attention to detail

- Friendly, courteous and compassionate demeanor
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
Other requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must be able obtain proper cannabis badging as required by MA law
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to drive to different company locations
- Must be capable of working in front of a computer for extended periods of time
