Job Description
DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for a talented SPI Engineer- Technical Specialist to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Engine Business Unit in Jamestown, NY/ your remote home office (hybrid position).
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Responsible for acting as the current product greenhouse gas (GHG) specialist and understanding GHG requirements and processes
• Construct and submit GHG product information and evaluate product changes and their potential impact to GHG emissions
• Responsible for leading individual projects for warranty reduction and/or customer feature improvements that will drive customer satisfaction and grow HD market share.
• Responsible for annual on-board diagnostic (OBD) reporting and understanding agency requirements
• Applies and improves processes such as ESW, iDFMEA, FIRG and tools such as 7-step problem solving, design review checklist and other specialized tools required to support the processes and enable high quality decision making.
• Responsible for general technical support and training for the team
REQUIRED SKILLS:
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• College, university, or equivalent Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines
• 3-5 years of prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required
• Knowledge of Greenhouse Gas, emissions, or air quality is strongly desired
• Combustion and engine tuning experience
• MATLAB or similar software experience desired
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
