Job Description
Job title: IT – Infrastructure Design & Support – Onlife Health Database Architect
Location: Brentwood, TN (Remote okay)
Duration: 6 months (possibility of hire)
Job Description:
This position performs design, development, testing, and documentation for the development, integration, enhancement, and maintenance of SQL Server database systems spanning both OLTP and Data Warehouse environments, both existing and future state. Determines technical requirements and methods for other team members.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Works with all available resources to gather requirements, conduct analysis and help to prioritize requests
- Converts business requirements into technical architecture and implementation plans
- Defines the physical architecture, server and storage for OLTP and OLAP environments.
- Defines and refines Data Architecture for all OnLife systems
- Mentors Data Services team members, as well as providing leadership and guidance to all developers.
- Works with all teams to design and develop enterprise class solutions leveraging the best available technology.
- Designs, develops and optimizes new as well as existing stored procedures, views and functions.
- Creates, maintains and enforces standards, guidelines and best practices and reviews all database code for developers working in the database space.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required Information Technology or related field or equivalent years of experience.
- 10+ years overall SQL DBA experience
- Overall Architecture Experience
- 3-5 years designing, refining and implementing data solutions as part of existing and new development efforts
- 3+ years of technical leadership as a thought leader or team lead.
- 2-3 years of experience in designing, implementing and transition data solutions to cloud infrastructures and platforms.
- Strong experience in enterprise development both in transactional and reporting data stores.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, both in technical and non-technical forums.
- Comprehensive T-SQL Skills (Creating, Maintaining, Tuning)
- Experience in multiple Relational and Non-Relational Data engines and data structures
- Experience working in an agile environment with constantly changing work priorities and demands.
- Source code management, build automation, and dependency management helpful.
Education: Related Bachelor’s degree or additional related equivalent work experience (A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent years of experience is required).
Additional Required Qualifications:
- Experience with source code management, build automation, and dependency management helpful.
- Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, both in technical and non-technical forums.
- Excellent interpersonal and team skills are required.
- Extensive analysis, problem resolution, and troubleshooting skills are required.
- Experience and/or exposure to cloud based data solutions.

- Working knowledge of C#
- Working knowledge of current programming practices
- Experience and/or exposure to migrating datastores to various cloud technologies

- Exposure to Python
- Healthcare experience is a plus, but strongly recommended
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Microsoft Database Certifications a plus
