YOUR OPPORTUNITY

As the Development Coordinator, you will be accountable for retrieving, sorting, processing, and acknowledging donations. With our mail program undergoing rapid growth, it is more important than ever that these gifts are handled professionally and our donors receive our gratitude in a timely manner. The Development Coordinator sets the tone for our relationship with our donors and is integral to achieving our stewardship goals.

You are a great candidate for this role if you are an experienced donation processor, a critical thinker who is not afraid to propose improvements to existing procedures, and someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work. • Deposit donation funds through a combination of remote scanning and in-bank transactions
  • Accurately manage the acknowledgement process for all donors in a timely manner
  • Maintain the integrity of data within the donor database in legal compliance with our donor privacy policy
  • Coordinate employee giving, matching gift, and third-party online donation data entry and acknowledgements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for third-party donation processors, including Network For Good, GiveDirect, Classy, Benevity, YourCause, and Facebook
  • Coordinate with Finance Operations to reconcile donations
  • Coordinate with other Development team members on various projects, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Donation Processing: Experienced in processing non-profit donations. Fluent in fundraising-speak, with a solid comprehension of various types of gifts received and the unique requirements of each.
  • Attention to Detail: Hyper-awareness of the little things. An eye for inconsistency or inaccuracy, and the initiative to look into and resolve those issues.
  • Reliance: Ability to safeguard confidential information and perform with a high-level of discretion, professionalism, and integrity. Extreme reliability in handling money.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks through to completion in a fast-paced environment. Must be flexible and have strong planning and organization skills.
  • Problem Solving: Forward-looking thinker who anticipates needs, actively seeks opportunities, and proposes solutions with excellent decision-making capability. Must be self-directed.
  • Communication: Ability to write and speak clearly and effectively, and to interact with all staff, donors, volunteers, and the public in a positive, professional, and friendly manner.

Starting salary for this position is $39,100 or salary to commensurate with experience.
