REPORTS TO

The Sr. Financial Analyst will report to the Head of Finance.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • This role is responsible for account analysis and reconciliation, financial statement preparation, audit and tax filing preparation, and regulatory reporting. You will:
  • Support the monthly close process to issue timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Own and manage all accounting activities related to royalty, inbound and outbound shipping, packing material, marketing, technology, and all employee related expenses
  • Analyze the areas of responsibility, including comparison to prior year and budget, and present to Head of Finance and the senior management team
  • Review cash investment activities and record monthly entries for investment gain or loss
  • Review monthly departmental reports and distribute to managers for final review
  • Reconcile bank accounts, prepaid expense, fixed asset, accumulated depreciation, accrued expense, and other receivable accounts
  • Complete monthly/quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations; support our external CPA firm on year-end annual financial review and annual income tax filing
  • Manage non-merchandise invoices and process payment, ensure proper GL and department coding, resolve issues on a timely manner
  • Manage company’s credit card program to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Manage company’s sales tax filing with our third party service provider, TaxJar, to ensure filing is completed accurately and on time, and payments are made on time
  • Record payroll GL entries and ensure accuracy; help manage Employee equity-based compensation program

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferred
  • At least 4 years of work experience in accounting, FP&A, or financial auditing a must.
  • Highly accountable and responsible, a strong sense of ownership
  • Strong Excel experience is crucial
  • Works well with limited direct supervision, seeking guidance when needed
  • Ability to protect organization’s values by maintaining confidentiality
  • Experience with a mid-size company cloud-based accounting system: NetSuite is preferred; Oracle, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Dynamics, etc. are helpful
  • Due to COVID, this position will be partially remote and partially on-site in Brooklyn until on or about September 2021. We are only accepting applicants located in the Tri State area.
