This is currently a remote position that, once the current pandemic passes, will ultimately be located in our downtown Portland, OR office.

Join the Engineering Team responsible for creating solutions rooting out fraudulent eCommerce!As a Senior Ruby Software Engineer, you will join a scrum team that focuses on the internal applications and services that support our customers’ desire to identify potential fraudulent activity on their open platforms. These customers are the biggest names in the business.

What You’ll Do:

  • Leverage your experience and coding skills to complete your share of the work prioritized for the team.
  • Collaborate with other technical leaders to pragmatically evolve existing systems where possible and construct entirely new systems and services when necessary.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers
  • Create solutions to collate and analyze large data sets
  • Collaborate with the team to establish processes to ensure high-quality coding practices are being utilized
  • Regularly provide technical guidance to the team through code reviews and design sessions
  • Collaborate with management and stakeholders on best technical approaches to rapidly resolve issues and maintain business continuity
  • Have a lot of fun while making a difference in the world by enabling a safer internet for everyone

What You’ll Bring:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience with web application development at scale
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a related science discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Be highly competent with Ruby and Rails.
  • Reflexively apply SOLID programming principles
  • Speak to and demonstrate the value of automated unit and integration testing
  • Enjoy solving problems large and small, esoteric and mundane
  • Strive to become one of the top individual contributors on a Scrum team delivering software solutions and systems
  • Experience with AWS ecosystem or be driven to quickly learn
