The Position:
This newly created role Head of Inclusion reporting to the CEO, is responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive, best practice to support SHL’s commitment to DEI and partnering across the organization to continue to build an inclusive culture with DEI at the center of all that we do. This strategy will require a multidimensional approach:
- Product development engagement on our solutions is key to enhance our business performance working with our products especially as we sell in the HR functions which means strong virtual collaboration working across functions and geographies,
- Building an inclusive culture at SHL. As part of the overall strategy influencing attraction, development, and retention of employees, compliance, marketing, communications, employee engagement, and building an internal infrastructure to ensure internal DEI is considered in our everyday thinking going forward.
- External relations and partnerships are a vital part of this role providing external visibility, events sponsorships, and customer presence showing the meaningful diversity and inclusion value of SHL.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and implement a robust inclusion plan that takes into consideration relevant best practices, trends, and market dynamics, that can be integrated across all aspects of SHL’s business.
- Partners with Executive Team to provide expertise and oversight to product development, solutions, and services ensuring SHL offerings align with DEI strategy internally and in the marketplace.
- Infuses DEI into discussions, such as budget, new initiatives, strategic plans, and future priorities, manages the direction and implementation of targeted DEI programs, leading and facilitating change.
- Fosters a culture of ongoing education, raises awareness, and motivates employees, driving change across the business. Engages and supports employee-run DEI groups fostering inclusion and engagement with SHL.
- Partners with HR to implement best practices across the employee lifecycle that result in a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. Spearhead ways to develop attraction, development, and retention programs to ensure a more diverse workforce.
- Collaborates with Learning & Development team to assess, design, and deliver diversity education, training, and development programs to support strategic goals and operational objectives. Provides leadership on diversity and inclusion training content.
- Works with sales and marketing teams to establish SHL as a DEI-conscious leader in the marketplace working on initiatives/processes which anticipate and/or respond to key competitive issues.
- Utilizes reporting (quantitative and qualitative) to assess progress over time by creating measures to understand the impact for ROI.
- Provides vision, leadership, coordination, and strategic planning for the design and implementation of a regionally appropriate DEI platform.
- Promotes a positive image and positive external relations for SHL by representing the company in various community and regional activities designed to promote DEI.
- Identifies, selects, and manages relationships with diverse solution providers and suppliers.
Required Skills and Experience
- Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion subject matter expertise
- Proven, progressive experience and demonstrated effectiveness leading diversity and inclusion related initiatives and programs, preferably in a corporate environment
- Experienced leader, results orientation with ability to work across functions and teams to drive short- and long-term vision.
- Experience with the development and delivering internal training in partnership with L&D for employees to support the development of an inclusive culture.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and ability to respond effectively to sensitive situations
- Experience in Business, Education, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or Human Resources
- Ability to write reports, manuals, and articles.
- Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management, and/or public groups.
- Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with employees, top management, and client groups.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, global environment
- Demonstrated ability to drive and manage change
- The ability to frame and solve unstructured problems
- Strong program management skills and ability to coordinate cross-functional delivery
