Job Description
We are looking for a talented Fuel Cell Test Technician to join our team specializing in hydrogen fuel cell power systems technology for our #NewPower Business Unit in Mississauga, Ontario.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Designs and conducts tests of physicochemical properties, for example morphology, impedance behaviors, solubility, and chemical poisoning, in order to aid in diagnostics and prediction of performance and health of chemically active components.
• Operate PEM fuel cell stack test stations for performance evaluation, root cause analysis, and stack and component life test.
• Assist in commissioning and operation of PEM fuel cell test bench for new stack platform design validation and performance test.
• Operate PEM fuel cell stack test stations for performance evaluation, root cause analysis, and stack and component life test.
• Assist in commissioning and operation of PEM fuel cell test bench for new stack platform design validation and performance test.
• Participate in evaluation and characterization of fuel cell stack key components using applicable test devices and equipment.
• Assist in maintenance and troubleshooting of fuel cell test stations and test bench.
• Maintain and modify R&D testing automation scripts as needed.
• Process testing data, create test reports and presentations
• Collaborates – Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
• Communicates effectively – Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of and ability to read P&IDs
• Experience in electrochemical processes (fuel cells, electrolyzers, batteries, etc) and fundamentals is an asset
• 2 years of experience with operating and maintaining R&D or production electro-mechanical equipment and machines, with a high comfort level of computer interfaces
+ Good working knowledge of automation and instrumentation in R&D test or process control, including temperature, pressure, humidity, mass flow, current and voltage
