Full-Time Buyer
Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Buyer to join our newly established and developing purchasing team which provides linkage between purchasing and manufacturing facilities and will serve as communication channel between manufacturing and the suppliers for our New Power business segment in Gladbeck, Germany.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Create and manage purchase orders, interact with suppliers regarding order fulfillment, payment issues, coordinate possible quality issues by applying Cummins sourcing policies, procedures and processes.
• Collect and validate relevant supplier score card data and provide delivery support to the site during supplier issues.
• Collaborate with sourcing team for supplier process improvement while maintaining high quality product and service delivery.
• Provide delivery and expediting support to the site during supplier issues.
• Analyze purchasing initiatives and processes in support of the delivery of cost effective and high-quality goods and services.
• Prepare and present recommendations of improvement opportunities and alternative courses of action to senior purchasing leaders.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• Must have a solid previous experience in operative purchasing role within manufacturing environment. • Must have a knowledge of business German & English (verbal and written). • Experience with MS Office and MRP / ERP systems is required.
• Excellent communication & teamwork skills, assertiveness, flexibility, independent and result-oriented way of working.
