Full-Time Rental Housing-Program Development Specialist
Job Description
The Office of Equity and Human Rights is seeking an experienced and dynamic Rental Housing Program Development Specialist.
Under the direction of the Landlord-Tenant / Crime Free Housing Lead, this position is responsible for carrying-out the duties to maintain the current Landlord-Tenant and Crime Free Housing Programs to include: respond to inquires regarding Washington State Landlord Tenant Law; provide information and resources to the community; ensure compliance with city, state, and federal laws and policies; and resolve issues and manage complaints for City of Tacoma tenants and landlords. The Specialist will provide information and make referrals to other agencies as appropriate; prepare and make presentations; conduct workshop and seminars to community groups and city staff; and mediate landlord tenant disputes as necessary. Work will be performed in interdepartmental and community team environments which include divergent and diverse members and interests.
Qualifications
An equivalent combination of: graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in business, public administration, social work or related field AND two years of related experience.
Additional and specifically-related qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Valid Washington Driver’s License.
