DEPARTMENT OF TECHNOLOGY SERVICES (DOTS)

Traditional 235 work days 

FTE: 1.0

Salary Range: $59,355 – $71,923

  

Essential Functions and Objectives:

 

Administers and manages activities within a specific area of a responsibility. Serves as the subject matter expert and applies gained knowledge to execute, maintain and improve systems, programs, or processes.

 

Plans, creates, maintains, and delivers DoTS enterprise-system technical training programs. Uses virtual, video course, and instructor-led delivery options and is responsible for all supporting documentation including required certifications and training evaluations. Creates and maintains the training intake process and completes training assessments to develop project training plans. Works in a team environment and fulfills both a lead position and support role, depending on the project.

Provides various support and conducts activities related to logistics, reporting, training, communications, and processes. Participates in the planning and implementation of new initiatives. 

Assesses and troubleshoots escalated problems and applies expert understanding to resolve complex challenges of stakeholders; focuses on root cause identification in order to achieve systemic and sustainable improvement. Approves and documents exceptions for compliance record keeping and reporting. 

Ensures appropriate key stakeholder involvement in planning, goal-setting, and implementation to achieve buy-in of work products. Ensures purposeful, positive and professional interactions and relationships with all stakeholders; enables consistent application of work products across the district.

Identifies opportunities for improvement, prioritizes, and recommends solutions to management. Implements approved enhancements to ensure consistency across the district. Identifies opportunities to reduce costs; analyzes available data, trends, and feedback, and ensures compliance with expectations for optimal operation and goal achievement. 

Designs and modifies an in-depth staff development training strategy for District employees, supporting all of DoTS projects, initiatives, and operational functions.

In partnership with the business owners for District employees, implements and delivers staff development sessions related to systems requiring skills-based certifications and/or use of other District technology systems.

Designs and implements virtual learning systems according to industry best practices and utilizing District-sponsored learning management systems, working collaboratively with other District training teams in the design, registration, evaluation, and certification processes to ensure consistency.

Monitors the training registration process for all offerings; maintains and updates all training documentation; and conducts course evaluations, using the data to measure success and make data-driven decisions for improvement.

Advises upper management and business owner(s) on any identified product development issues found when developing training documentation or resources.

Analyzes data reports within the incident management system and leverages the data to drive new and/or revised training documentation for the DoTS Tiered Support teams.

Maintains the training web page to include specific prerequisites for security access requests requiring certifications and other support documentation.

Develops change management strategies to support impacted groups on any new or revised training, requirements, and/or processes prior to implementation.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

Two (2) or more years of experience in training development, systems implementation and design, communications and documentation development, or related experience.

Experience with creation and implementation of video content delivery systems preferred.

Experience with K-12 educational organizations preferred.

Valid Colorado Driver’s license, appropriate insurance, and acceptable driving record for the past 3 years required.

Proficiency using computer-based software and online resources to develop training materials.

Effective time management and organizational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation and public speaking skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Effectively handles multiple demands and competing deadlines.

Strong work ethic and self-motivation.

Ability to work independently as well as collaborate and communicate effectively within a team.

Ability to design and develop training sessions and materials using emerging technologies.

Ability to adapt training delivery methods to various learning styles and skill sets and to adapt delivery based on audience and time constraints in order to provide the best learning environment based on the learning objective, preferred.

Ability to be self-reflective and willing to incorporate feedback into training deliveries, preferred.

Knowledge of adult learning and demonstrated skills facilitating adult audiences, preferred.   

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience required.
