Essential Functions and Objectives:
Responsible for performing advanced technical analysis to solve business problems using advanced methods. Provides information that may inform the district on key decision-making for priorities and project work cross functionally. Administers updates to procedures, improvements, and reporting within district wide systems and platforms.
The Analyst is accountable for the execution and implementation of cross-functional projects including mandatory state and federal submissions. The main performance indicators include state and federal submissions completed on time and accurate, project completion, on budget and within scope and customer requirements. The person in this role should have basic to intermediate SQL skills, with a desire to learn more and project coordination skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
– Researches, strategizes and applies analytical methods to solve complex problems. Directs and develops research methodology used. Analyze systems, programs, datasets and reports to enhance the efficacy of district programs, processes, procedures, goals and objectives. Create metrics, examine data, interpret findings and extract insights.
– Improves data storage practices, in order to optimize extract, analysis and delivery of content. Manages data collection and input process into systems; defines and creates queries; ensures reporting needs are documented and meet overall district objectives.
– Maintains proactive communication with key internal and external stakeholders; presents data and recommendations to practitioners, partners and district stakeholder in effort to reveal gaps and areas of improvement. Works closely with functional experts, provides mentorship and catalyzes strong collaboration among all resources involved.
– Process and submit a predetermined amount of student submissions including October Count, End of Year, Office of Civil Rights, Report Card March, Safety and Discipline, Attendance, Teacher Student Data Link. October Count is the official student membership count that accounts for a portion of the district’s operating budget.
– Act as back up to technical personnel in the execution of scripts and reports as they relate to submissions.
– Develop reports to be used in data analysis based on submitted data using Microsoft Tools.
– Manage the implementation of cross-departmental projects. Success measures include execution within schedule, budget, quality and stakeholder’s feedback. Most projects are mandatory state and federal submissions.
– Monitor the implementation of projects focused on data accuracy, processes streamline, and maximize funding.
– Develop processes and systems to improve operations and services to schools, central office, students and parents. Some of our current focus is to improve student data accuracy; streamline processes, and maximize funding.
– An essential part of the team coordinating with the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) for state-related submissions and October Count audits.
– Train and mentor school staff in Federal and State policies and requirements and internal district processes and requirements.
Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:
– At least three to five (3-5) years of related work experience.
– Three (3) or more years of experience with data analysis with basic to intermediate understanding of MS SQL, Visual Studio.net, maintaining reports (SSRS), ETL scripts (SSIS) and basic web pages.
– Experience using Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Access, and Word, as well as Google Suite, required.
– Extensive experience with data analysis with a basic to intermediate understanding of MS SQL scripts is required.
– Experience using Visual Studio.net for creating and maintain reports (SSRS), ETL scripts (SSIS) and basic web pages- required.
– Basic knowledge of C#, Java or another programming language and ASP.net- preferred.
– Strong analytics and problem solving skills – required.
– Experience working, planning, organizing and executing activities, and projects.
– Demonstrate a proactive focus on meeting client and project requirements in a timely and cost effective manner.
– Strong written and verbal communication and listening skills- required.
– Must thrive in a team environment and be able to work well collaborating with others – required.
– Highly organized and strong attention to detail – required.
– Experience in continuous improvement – preferred.
– Working experience with Public, and Government agencies, State Submissions, audit processes – preferred.
– Experience with student information systems, such as Infinite Campus – preferred.
– Experience working in school districts -preferred.

Education Requirements:
– Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or a related field required.
