Full-Time President

NARAL Pro-Choice America – Posted by jmcilhenny Washington, District of Columbia, United States

Job Description

For more than 50 years, NARAL Pro-Choice America (“NARAL”) has led the fight for reproductive freedom, including the right to abortion care.

Powered by its 2.5 million members in every state and congressional district, NARAL is fighting in states and at the federal level to block attacks on abortion access, elect champions for reproductive freedom, and push elected officials in Washington, D.C. and state capitals to fight for a world where people can have access to accurate, unbiased information and the care they need.

Each day, NARAL organizes and mobilizes in neighborhoods, communities, cities, and states, galvanizing millions of people to take action to defend reproductive freedom.

NARAL represents the 7 in 10 Americans who believe every body should have the freedom to make the best decision for themselves about if, when and how to start or grow a family—free from political interference.

NARAL partners with and lifts up champions fighting for reproductive freedom and shines a spotlight of accountability on bad actors trying to advance an unpopular and out-of-touch agenda of power and control.

Based in Washington, D.C., NARAL has experienced steady growth and is known for its organizing strength, sophisticated message and opposition research. Its work is now supported by an 85 person team and an operating budget of $26 million.

NARAL is seeking a visionary and dynamic President to lead and guide the organization into its next chapter, building on 50 years of success and impact and a recent period of extraordinary growth to continue to diversify and expand the movement for reproductive freedom for everybody.

The President will be responsible for carrying out NARAL’s consistent achievement of its mission, strategic vision and financial objectives. The President will bring transparency and visionary leadership to all areas, providing oversight of the organization’s operations, culture, values, talent and financial performance.

Reporting to the Board of Directors and leading an extraordinary staff, the President will spearhead the development and implementation of strategies to ensure the operational and cultural health of NARAL as it evolves to enable even greater impact.

Moreover, the President will embody NARAL’s deep commitment to reproductive freedom, civil rights, and social justice. Guided by an equity and justice-oriented approach to leadership, the President will promote the organization, accelerating its impact, fundraising and reach. This leader will be a highly capable manager, demonstrating investment in and maintaining a presence with NARAL’s team. In collaboration with the Board and staff, the President will lead NARAL into its next chapter. Looking ahead, NARAL will remain at the forefront of the fight to protect and advance reproductive freedom.
