Are you passionate about shaping strategy, new policy and legislation to help decarbonise the UK’s homes and industry?
Would you like to be instrumental in the plan to roll out low carbon heat across the whole of the UK?
We are currently recruiting a number of Senior Programme and Policy Delivery Advisors for our directorates working on important climate change issues.
We are seeking a diverse range of skills and experience, and welcome those who bring transferrable skills from other fields or sectors.
We are committed to developing our staff through our extensive range of training that is provided through our in-house BEIS Academy that is in partnership with Civil Service Learning.
Responsibilities
While no two days are ever the same, you could find yourself:
– Supporting your colleagues in developing and delivering innovative policy solutions to difficult problems;
– Engaging across Government to ensure join up of activity, developing realistic policy and ensuring leadership;
– Helping a multi-disciplinary team to ensure successful project delivery outcomes with the right capability, capacity, and levels of assurance;
– Working with a diverse range of colleagues to ensure delivery of the project outcomes, working with multi-disciplinary professionals, including analysts, project managers, lawyers, commercial, procurement;
– Looking at complex and varying sources of evidence and data to inform delivery solutions, evaluating throughout the policy project to make changes and to innovate as required;
– Translating government priorities into policy delivery and focus on successful delivery of the outcomes;
– Identifying, monitoring, and proactively managing project risks and issues;
– Developing project plans and schedules, including the right project controls, managing performance and reporting progress to sponsors.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
– Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex matters to different audiences;
– Analytical skills to weigh up sources of evidence to formulate pragmatic options, considering delivery viability throughout;
– The softer skills to build effective relationships with different partners across government and industry;
– Proven ability to perform consistently to tight timescales with a high degree of visibility;
– Ability to work with teams, professions and across organisations.

Candidates will be sifted on personal statements.
