Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, temporary non-permanent classified Secretary Senior for the Math division. Hours for this position are: Monday-Friday from 8am to 5pm. This position will report to Unit Operations Manager.

Primary responsibilities include providing Secretary Senior support for Math department and the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) unit. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with the Math Division Chair.
  • Serve as the point of contact for faculty, staff, students and the general public as it relates to the Mathematics Division.
  • Assist new faculty with campus orientation and set up of services.
  • Prepare pertinent travel requests and authorizations for faculty travel and field trips.
  • Prepare goods and services, equipment, and supply requisitions and monitors par levels.
  • Track faculty leave and processes payment for faculty substitutes.
  • Gather and archive quarterly syllabi and student evaluation summaries as well as other academic records.
  • Track all departmental budgets and expenditures, monitor account balances, prepare petty cash reimbursement requests; maintain department procurement cards and track purchases and initiate work orders as needed.
  • Contact students regarding class cancellations/adds/changes.
  • Assist Division Chair and/or other division faculty as requested with special departmental events; obtaining supplies/refreshments; organizing logistics such as room/space reservations; signage, etc.
  • Take notes and department, leadership and unit meetings.
  • Pull reports and statistical data, such as enrollment and/or class rosters, etc.
  • Assist unit with various projects.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Position Requirements and Competencies:

Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • Experience working in an office setting
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook (or comparable software/systems)

 Job Readiness/Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate and organize work including the ability to prioritize and manage projects and work independently.
  • Ability to be self-directed and handle details accurately.
  • The initial appointment will include a 6-month probationary period.
  • This position is represented by Washington Public Employees Association.

 Salary/Benefits: 

Starting Salary: $2,799/month                     Range:  35                           Code:  100T
