Rise Project Coordinator FTC (2 years)

 

The Purpose:       

Manchester United Foundation believes every young person should feel empowered to achieve their goals and uses the power of football and Manchester United to support young people to make positive choices in their lives.  Due to the success of the work the Foundation do, we are currently growing our team.

In partnership with the Schmidt Fund for Strategic Innovation we aim to identify and empower talented young people that will drive lasting change throughout careers of social impact. The partnership will enable Rise and the Manchester United Foundation (MUF) to successfully find talented 15–17-year-olds in the Greater Manchester Area and beyond, providing them with the opportunity to benefit from Rise and MUF’s complementary offerings, inspire them to contribute positively to society and thereby have a lifelong impact on their development.

The Role:

The key responsibility for the role is to grow and expand the RISE programme in a sustainable, resourced and placed based structure. This will involve:

  • Introducing Rise & Hello World to 4.5k eligible students aged 15-16.
  • Engaging with students who are interested in applying to prepare for the Rise application.
  • Create an infrastructure (training, materials, teacher networks) to identify Rise-eligible students who would not typically self-select or pursue such an opportunity.
  • Being responsible for managing an annual budget.
  • Ensuring everything is done safely, fairly, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Planning and delivering to the best of standards.
  • To be able to capture the success and impact of your work.
  • Having responsibility to safeguard the welfare of children and adults at risk.
  • To introduce Rise to partner schools across greater Manchester in the first year.
  • To Inspire applicants towards greater leadership and social impact activities across Greater Manchester.
  • To establish partnerships to extend reach across the region. This will happen in second year of the contract.

The Person:

  • Minimum of three years practical experience of working with young people.
  • Experience inspiring and developing staff.
  • Experience of scoping, delivering, and evaluating a range of programmes.
  • To be able to Lead and manage projects.
  • Ability to raise the profile of a programme and becoming a thought leader/influencer.
  • To be able to train the Trainer / Tutor delivery.
  • To want to make a positive difference to young people (specifically 15 to 17).
  • Hard working, enthusiastic and reliable.
  • People Skills (Self-assured, build rapport, empathise with others, emotionally intelligent, approachable.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding best practice
  • Knowledge of implementing policies and procedures especially health and safety and risk assessments.
  • Ability to engage and communicate with a range of stakeholders to achieve strategic and contractual objectives.
  • Organisational and communication skills (written, verbal and listening).
  • Think strategically in the context of, and alignment with, wider existing objectives and partnerships.
  • Financial Management (Planning, organising, directing, and controlling financial activities).
  • Ability to capture the success and report on the impact of your work.
  • Technology aware and digitally proficient
  • A full UK driving licence with access to own car for business use.
  • Educated to degree, HND level or A level equivalent (Desirable)
