 High School Partnership Coordinator

The Purpose

Manchester United Foundation believes every young person should feel empowered to achieve their goals and uses the power of football and Manchester United to support young people to make positive choices in their lives.  Due to the success of the work the Foundation do, we are currently growing our team.

The main purpose of the role is to ensure that the governance underpinning service level agreement objectives are met and are compliant. This will be surpassed through strategic planning, effective safeguarding, health & safety, risk management practices and continuous monitoring and evaluation.

The Role

  • To create a learning environment that is inspiring, dynamic, challenging, and educational.
  • Strategically support the creation of digital solutions to innovate, enhance and uphold all governance, compliance and safeguarding policies, procedures, training, and delivery.
  • To plan and lead regular progress meetings with colleagues and external partners to ensure agreed contractual obligations and objectives remain relevant and on track.
  • To develop and manage effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Work with the Hub Development Manager, the partner high schools team and recognised school representatives to innovate, manage, monitor and evaluate service level agreement objectives to ensure they are subject to legislation and remain relevant, unique and aligned to the strategic vision of the Foundation and the partner school.
  • As directed by the Hub Development Manager attend seminars, networking events and exhibitions relevant to the role, proactively using the information and learning to influence current and future partner school programmes, events, and activities.
  • Keep up to date with Government policy and strategies relating to education (5 to 18yrs) and the national curriculum.
  • Ensure that the Foundation’s code of conduct is upheld in all events, activities, programme delivery and physical appearance.
  • Undertake personal development as and when required by the Foundation and the club.

Management and Operations

  • Work with the senior Partner Schools management team to coordinate and facilitate safer working practices, assessments, and training to support SLA objectives and to foster a team ethos within the Partner Schools division.
  • Support the Hub Development Manager in the recruitment, management, development, and deployment of School Partnership Officers including the setting, monitoring and evaluation of PDR objectives.
  • Work with the Hub Development Manager, other Co-ordinators, and School Partnership Officers to ensure partnership activities are subject to a school’s and the Foundation’s governance, compliance, procedures and policies.
  • Provide operational support and advice to other divisions in the Foundation for the safe delivery of programmes, events, activities and associated training.
  • Uphold and promote the Foundation’s Safeguarding policy and those of partner schools working in conjunction with both Manchester United FC’s Safeguarding team and the school’s safeguarding/pastoral lead/s.
  • Oversee the completion of thorough risk assessments to ensure quality programme delivery, safe events & activities, and a healthy working environment at all times in accordance with Manchester United Foundation and Manchester United Football Club’s policies.
  • As directed by the Hub Development Manager, maintain registers, collect all relevant data, information, and evidence of good practice to inform planning, to meet funding conditions and for the formulation of case studies.
  • Maintain FA coach license award and other qualifications where applicable.
  • Any other reasonable duty as may be assigned that is consistent with the purpose of the role and its level of responsibility, including the ability to work flexible hours and travel.

The Person

  • A minimum of four years’ experience working with children and young people, preferably within a charitable, school or sporting environment.
  • Proven ability of engaging with a range of stakeholders and external partners in order to achieve strategic and contractual objectives.
  • Experience of scoping, delivering, monitoring, and evaluating a range of physical activities, events, and programmes for young people and hard to reach groups.
  • Demonstration of academic achievement in secondary and/or further education.
  • Strong functional skills in Mathematics and English.
  • A full and clean UK driving licence (or recognised equivalent).
  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal and listening).
  • Excellent digital skills.
  • A passion for working with children, young people and hard to reach groups.
  • Self-driven individual who brings life and energy to their delivery.
  • Ability to be a positive role model.
  • Excellent organisational skills.

Desirable

  • GCSE Grade C or Level 4 in Mathematics and English.
  • FA Level 2 in coaching football and relevant support qualifications
  • Other sports coaching qualifications.
  • Youth work qualification.
  • Knowledge of national curriculum.
