Full-Time Program Associate, K-12 Initiatives

Job Description

Active Minds is seeking a talented and passionate Program Associate to manage programmatic and administrative components of Active Minds’ K-12 Initiatives. The Program Associate will manage program outreach and communications, event logistics planning, and will be responsible for tracking program deliverables. This position reports to the Senior Manager of K-12 Initiatives and works collaboratively with other members of the Active Minds Team.

Active Minds is developing K-12 programming, with a focus on grades 9-12, through Active Minds’ unique youth empowerment lens and peer-to-peer approach to mental health. The ideal candidate is an emerging professional with a passion for working with K-12 schools and students, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Virtual and In-Person Program Coordination: Communicate with program participants, including students, teachers and administrators, and parents and families. Manage program logistics including in person event coordination and webinar logistics.
  • Administration and Logistics: Manage various administrative projects and logistics across a wide range of programs each year, including coordinating special projects, reviewing reports, monitoring grant deliverables, and communicating with students and administrators.
  • Public Speaking/Training: Collaborate on the development of program presentations and trainings, including content creation. Learn Active Minds’ mental health presentations/workshops to present to students, K-12 professionals, and other audiences on the content in partnership with other staff members when needed.
  • Programmatic Evaluation and Improvement: Design and implement benchmarks to measure and evaluate program effectiveness and impact, participant satisfaction, and overall programmatic success.
  • Salesforce Management: Maintain and track organized records of program participants, event details, communication, and status in the organization-wide CRM system, Salesforce.
  • Departmental/Organization-wide: Ensure relevant strategic plan goals are met or exceeded on time. Represent Active Minds externally as needed at conferences, meetings, trainings, and other events, at the discretion of the Chief Program Officer. Participate in organization-wide miscellaneous duties as needed, including supporting the National Conference and participating on cross-department committees.

Qualifications:

Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple tasks at a given time, organize time effectively, and respond to changing deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Effectiveness in a team setting and self-driven/independent motivation.

Experience speaking publicly and presenting content to large and small groups.

Experience with Microsoft and Google products and online meeting tools.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with many moving parts.

Experience with Salesforce or another CRM.

Location: Washington, DC based preferred (but working from other cities will be considered as long as the applicant can be flexible to work during East Coast hours).
