Full-Time Project Assistant – Economic Policy Project

BPC is currently seeking a Project Assistant to serve as the key administrative lead for the Economic Policy Project (EPP). EPP works to develop policy recommendations that grow the economy, close longstanding disparities, and improve economic opportunity among all Americans. Right now, EPP’s main areas of focus include: 

  • Fiscal Policy and the Debt Limit 
  • Retirement Security
  • Anti-Poverty Tax Credits
  • Higher Education Policy
  • Unemployment Insurance and Workforce Development

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary responsibility for day-to-day coordination of EPP activities and projects, including scheduling and calendar management, tracking project deliverablespreparing agendas, and taking meeting notes
  • Serve as liaison between EPP and BPC functional areasincluding development, communications, events, and BPC Action teamsto carry out project goals
  • Draft external communications, such as the project newslettergrant reports, and event invitations
  • Provide point of contact support for project staff and steering committee members, such as processing reimbursement requests, credit card reports, and invoices
  • Plan projectrelated meetings and public events (reserve conference roomsorder catering, prepare materials, etc.)
  • Responsible for project contact management, including maintaining CRM mailing lists
  • Provide research assistance to the team, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • This is an entry-level position; bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Some familiarity with or interest in economic policy issues 
  • Scheduling or project management experience
  • Substantial organizational talents
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, particularly in writing
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize competing deadlines
  • Experience with and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Works well independently, and as part of a team
  • Research experience a plus
