We are looking for a talented Functional Safety Systems Engineering Tools Technical Specialist to join our team specializing in Cummins Corporate Business Segment in Columbus, IN.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
• This position will be primarily responsible for the functional safety systems level processes and tools and processes for compliance with Functional Safety standards.
• The role will include cross-functional work with internal technical departments and communication with internal and external suppliers and customers.
• Develop, modify, maintain and distribute processes for functional safety at a systems level. This includes managing the functional and technical safety concept processes.
• Provide training as necessary on the systems level functional safety processes and tools.
• Assist in developing and maintaining a culture of functional safety within Cummins product development processes.
• Provides support and guidance to influence technical direction within a project team and continues to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role.
• Operates as a recognized specialist in a discipline or product area within the immediate team.

Education, Licenses, Certifications
University, or equivalent bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required.

Experience
• Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience (4 plus years) in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making. Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.
• This role will be expected to be certified or soon be certified as Functional Safety Certified Automotive Engineer per ISO 26262.
• The candidate will be expected to have clear written and verbal communication skills and resolve issues through consensus building.
• Knowledge of embedded controls development tools such as PTC Integrity, Medini Analyze, and Mathworks Tools Suite is preferred.
