Research shows that empathy from a caring human being is one of the most important factors in helping someone in emotional distress.
As a peer counselor, you don’t diagnose or treat mental illnesses. Instead, you express your authentic care, and base your connection on shared experiences.
Peer counselors don’t need to have the exact same problems as the user. What matters is that you can find shared humanity and relate.
Details:
$20/hr
If you’re hired, you’ll create a peer counselor profile. Users can then schedule 30 or 60-minute sessions with you whenever you’re available. You’ll be paid $10/half-hour session (and $20/hr). You’ll have expert support and all the resources you need to provide excellent care.
