Full-Time Research Associate – Peptide Platform
Job Description
We are seeking a Research Associate to join UCB Pharmaceuticals – UCB’s chemistry group as an integrated team member supporting the discovery platform projects. The candidate will have the opportunity to design, synthesize and optimize peptides for drug discovery while working collaboratively with our drug discovery group.
You like to work in an environment where you can:
• Synthesize peptides both manually and with automated synthesizers
• Perform on-resin peptide modifications and cleavages of peptidyl resin
• Analyze samples by LC and LC-MS
You will contribute by:
• Perform HPLC for sample purification
• collaboratively maintenance of lab equipment including HPLCs, peptide synthesizers, and lyophilizers;
• Participating in our company’s successful drug discovery process
Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:
Minimum Qualifications:
• BS with 2 years working experience in the lab or MS or PhD degree in chemistry, biochemistry
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with HPLC purification and LCMS analysis
• Experience with peptide synthesis
• DNA encoded library experience
• Rare disease or therapeutic area experience in neurology preferred
• Ability to influence (directly & indirectly) and foster strong partnerships
• Strong written and oral communication skills
