Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor of History

Ball State University’s Department of History has a full time, one-year contract faculty position in secondary education social studies methods available August 2021.
Responsibilities include three methods courses in the fall (two sections of junior high methods and one of secondary school methods) and one introduction to the social studies course and supervision of some 12 student teachers in the spring. Each semester faculty teaching load equivalent of 3 credit hours will be granted to allow for the writing of a report assessing the department’s embedded teacher certification process in conjunction with representatives in Teachers College.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Social Studies from an accredited institution.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Social Studies from an accredited institution.
