Job Description

The Manager of Multimedia and Creative Expression is a full-time exempt position reporting to the Vice President of Audience Development and Integrated Marketing. This essential role oversees the Mann’s multimedia storytelling and will serve as the Mann’s in-house videographer.

 

The Manager of Multimedia and Creative Expression (Videographer) is responsible for creating video presentations used for events, the web, social media, YouTube, contributing video content ideas, collecting footage from events, documenting the patron experience, composing behind-the-scenes and on-site stories/image galleries, navigating the technical aspects of the live streaming projects, creating b-roll packages, and conducting/videotaping interviews with artists. This role will also oversee the video/photo asset management. and will be responsible for managing the internal/external stakeholder video review/approval process.

The ideal candidate will be motivated to work with all members of the Marketing team to assist in reaching earned revenue goals, maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring video content is consistent with the Mann brand and marketing strategies.

 Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Captures, edits, and produces relevant, timely content for the institution’s web, social media, private events, and digital displays.
  • Ability to seamlessly oversee internal and external video editing and review/approval processes.
  • Storyboards, shoots, and edits video of the Mann and its events to produce engaging video stories for multiple platforms (in-season and off-season).
  • Coordinates and prioritizes, along with the marketing staff, video needs of other departments.
  • Facilitates external requests for video and still photography assets.
  • Manages video production intern, if applicable.
  • Serves as staff (still) photographer, as needed when it does not conflict with primary video responsibilities.
  • Develops a dynamic plan for the Mann’s video strategies and contributes to overall institutional advancement.
  • Attends concerts and Mann events to capture videography and assist with marketing and digital marketing, promotions, and press responsibilities, as needed during the Mann season.
  • Collaborates with and follows guidelines on video projects when working with internal and external partners including, but not limited to Live Nation Entertainment, the Mann’s booking partner.
  • Serves as the main point of contact and manages external videographer business partner relationships.
  • Serves as a back-up and provide support to other marketing positions as required, including the Vice President of Audience Development and Integrated Marketing
  • Organizes and properly catalog all video and marketing photo assets.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.

Education and Experience

 Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in digital communications, media, or a related field.

  • 2-5 years experience in high-quality videography and production or equivalent combination of educational training and experience.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

  • Excellent videography, video production skills, and experience in photography are required, and links to work samples must be submitted with the employment application.
  • Must work well independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates contemporary storytelling and video marketing abilities.
  • Familiar with best practices with video for the use of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) and SEO optimization.
  • Proven proficiency in editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro; After Effects and Adobe Media Encoder; Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Bridge, InDesign, and Lightroom.
  • Experience with and knowledge of Canon professional cameras/DSLR cameras and associated equipment.
  • Knowledge of post-production workflows and technology.
  • Experience with live streaming equipment and platforms.
  • Basic understanding of audio recording/mixing and related equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Possess interpersonal communications skills to work effectively and efficiently with a diverse array of staff and colleagues.
  • Ability to collaborate well, be flexible and take direction from other team members.
  • Ability to set up and carry equipment up to 30lbs, manage stairs and uneven surfaces.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and can provide transportation to the office and venue as needed.
  • Ability to take initiative, demonstrate resourcefulness, and respond flexibly to changing work demands.
  • Ability to think creatively.
  • Knowledge of performing arts a plus.
