GoPro is looking for a Front End Web Developer to join our team immediately. While our headquarters are in San Mateo, CA, this candidate can be remote. The Front End Web Developer will work directly with UX, digital design teams in an agile environment and when necessary will work closely with our engineering, digital merchandising, and CRM teams. You will be responsible for prototyping and developing great, innovative, mobile-first web-based experiences as well as coding email, using HTML, CSS, media queries and various ESP tools. The ideal Developer will have team experience and have a minimum of 3-5 years of front-end web development, email development, and/or ESP programming experience. As well as familiarity with design systems and component and module development.

What You Will Do

  • Work directly with the UX/UI and Visual Web Designers on bringing ideas to life in a functional environment.
  • Translate visual and written designs into efficient front-end components.
  • Work closely with engineering to ensure the integrity and feasibility of the UI throughout the design and development lifecycle.
  • Work with engineering to ensure the front-end prototype code developed can be seamlessly integrated.
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
  • Bring a strong knowledge responsive web design.
  • Developing new user-facing features using React.js
  • Optimizing components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
  • Research and recommend new technologies to improve user experience.
  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3.
  • Work closely with our Visual Web Designers to develop HTML emails using HTML, in-line CSS and media queries.
  • Work closely with our CRM team to implement and QA HTML emails into the ESP tool.
  • Proficiency in implementing email programs within ESP tool limitations.
  • Working knowledge in responsive/adaptive email experience.
  • Comfortably handle change requests and provide quick and efficient solutions.
  • Communicating potential problems to project teams and recommending solutions.

Skills We’re Stoked About

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Internet Technologies, Computer Science or related field).
  • You have 3-5 years of professional experience hand-coding HTML.
  • Expertise in CMS development and front-end frameworks (such as React).
  • Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux).
  • You have experience working with email rendering tools (such as Litmus, Email on Acid).
  • You have extensive experience in responsive/mobile design for web and emails.
  • You have a working knowledge of Figma.
  • You have the ability to communicate clearly and display a high level of professionalism.
  • You have the ability to learn new technologies quickly and create improved efficiency.
  • You have high standards of excellence and the patience to QA every detail.
  • Manage production tasks and deliverable milestones in collaborative PM tool (such as Wrike, Asana).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • The ability to multi-task.
  • The ability to work in a fast-pace environment.
