We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to manage, motivate, and develop a youth information, advice and counselling team and its services across Brighton and Hove.
As Service Manager you will lead an award-winning service that is commissioned by Brighton and Hove City Council to provide friendly, non-judgmental information, support and advice to young people in Brighton aged between 13-25.
The post holder will lead the Youth Advice Centre (YAC) team, be an ambassador for the Youth Information, Advice and Counselling Service (YIACS) model and represent the broader interests of YMCA DownsLink Group across Brighton & Hove City, in line with the strategic objectives of the organisation.
This role is based on site at the Youth Advice Centre in Brighton, working Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am-6pm

To be successful in this role you will need to be an excellent, supportive and engaging manager, with experience of service delivery, ideally within a youth support setting.
Essential skills and experience include:
- Experience in safeguarding, child protection and/or protection of vulnerable adults
- Knowledge of issues affecting vulnerable children, young people and adults including sexual & criminal exploitation, gangs, radicalisation, learning disability and cognitive impairment, homelessness, mental health, trauma and attachment, substance misuse, domestic violence, trafficking, and modern slavery
- Experience of leading improvements in service performance
- Demonstrated experience of creating psychologically informed environments, and embedding the principles of trauma informed care and support within services
- Understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion and experience of relating these core values and principles to develop and improve services
- Ability to build strong and credible relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, including service commissioners and statutory/third sector partners
