Full-Time WWTP LIQUIDS OPERATOR I OR II
Job Description
This position is an hourly, non-exempt position, with a full benefits package and will be filled as either an Operator I or Operator II, dependent upon qualifications. Pay starts at $23.56 per hour.
The City of Oshkosh, Wisconsin is searching for a full-time Liquids Operator. This is a technical position responsible for the care and efficient operation of the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant. Specific duties may include:
Monitor wastewater flow and treatment processes throughout the Wastewater Treatment Plant and at lift stations, and take corrective action as necessary.
Maintain and prepare all necessary plant operating records, logs, and charts on a daily basis. Use SCADA and other basic computer data entry to control and record plant performance.
Control, operate, and make repairs to equipment as necessary to ensure proper functioning of: headworks, raw sewage pumping, grit removal, primary and final clarification, aeration, chlorination/ de-chlorination and chemical use, anaerobic digestion, and lift stations.
Maintain proper process controls, collect samples for lab use, and perform physical and chemical analyses at various points in the process.
Liquids Operator I Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree in Water, Wastewater or a related field; or a high school diploma or equivalent plus one or more years of experience in Water, Wastewater or a related field;
Ability to obtain a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade T Certification plus one subclass within one year of hire.
Liquids Operator II Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree in Water, Wastewater or a related field; or a high school diploma or equivalent plus one or more years of experience in Water, Wastewater or a related field;
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade T Certification plus one subclass.
