Job Description
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) is seeking adynamic professional for the position of Workforce Development Credentialing Coordinator. With guidance, support and supervision from the Director of Local Public Health Workforce Development, the selected candidate assists local public health workforce credentialing and training efforts with particular attention to Certified Health Officers (CHO) and Registered Sanitarians (RS).
This position provides day-to-day program and contract management support, technical assistance, and communication with Local Boards of Health (LBOH), lead entities for shared services arrangements, the federally recognized Tribes, and training partners throughout the state. In addition, the incumbent will support contract and programmatic oversight, particularly relating to workforce development initiatives and grants. This position assists in setting local public health workforce standards, scaling up a training and workforce development infrastructure that increases the ability of local public health to meet the standards, and enhances the pipeline, pool and career opportunities of the field, while incorporating the principles for racial equity developed by DPH. Finally, this position serves as a liaison and collaborates with internal DPH groups working on behalf of OLRH in efforts to strengthen and expand the local public health workforce to addressCOVID-19, health and racial disparities, and other public health challenges.
