Full-Time Welsh Triathlon Development Coach

Job Description

Welsh Triathlon is the Governing Body for multisport in Wales and works closely with the British Triathlon Federation (BTF) to create aligned pathways and opportunities for athletes at all levels to develop and achieve their potential. This is an exciting time for Welsh Triathlon, looking to build on a long history of Welsh and British international accomplishment and develop the next generation of performance athletes.

Welsh Triathlon is looking for a dynamic, engaging person to help develop the next generation of athletes at our Performance Centre in Cardiff and throughout the Pathway across Wales.

This new position has been created due to the expansion of the National Triathlon Performance Centre Wales (NTPCW) and the Welsh Triathlon Pathway, meaning Welsh Triathlon is now looking for someone to enhance its coaching delivery throughout its programmes.

The post will be primarily based at the NTPCW in Cardiff but will also have a national remit with the responsibility for delivering coaching activities across the Welsh Triathlon Performance Programme (WTPP). The post holder will be the technical coaching lead for development athletes and co-ordinate the BUCS programme within the NTPCW. They will lead on the planning and delivery of the Welsh Development Academy (WDA) training days across Wales, with the overall aim of developing athletes to deliver international success.

The post holder will have triathlon coaching experience and must be committed to developing themselves and others to be the best they can be. They will be qualified to Triathlon Level 2 Coaching (or equivalent) and be willing to work towards Level 3. A sound understanding of the BTF Athlete Development Framework is also desirable.
