Full-Time Web Software Engineer II

The Web Software Engineer II works closely with stakeholders to design and implement solutions and enhancements to new and existing systems for websites based on requirements created by internal business teams. This position requires a broad knowledge of common development tools and technologies used for web application development, creates and maintains documentation, and serves as a point of escalation for support.

Set forth below is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities (or “essential functions”) of this position.
- Uses elevated skill level to develop complex code and applications to support Cable One initiatives.
- Implements software as it relates to active Cable One projects.
- Works to fulfill business requirements using software development methodologies.
- Documents technical designs that are used by internal teams for application support and maintenance.
- Maintains and troubleshoots systems, such as applications (custom and 3rd party), reports, and/or database logic.
- Provides support and general maintenance of third-party applications, including communications with vendors.
- Examines, evaluates, and troubleshoots applications and interfaces deployed to IT servers over an IP network.
- Analyzes project requests to estimate time and cost required to accomplish projects.
- Works as part of a project team to coordinate software environments and determine project scope and limitations.
- Provides support for legacy applications and serves as an escalation point.
- Acts as a mentor for junior team members by sharing knowledge, skills, and guidance.
- Performs on-call duties to troubleshoot technical issues and points of integration.
- Participates in the on-call rotation to deploy, support, and troubleshoot applications after hours.

Qualifications
- Associate degree (A.A.) from four-year college or university; and four years related experience and/or training in application development programming languages, such as .NET or Java; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proven demonstration of ability to satisfactorily complete the functions of the Web Software Engineer I position required.
Certificates, licenses, registrations
- Advanced certification in programming languages such as .net required.
Other qualifications
- Position will require up to 20% travel.
- Ability to work on-call on a 24/7 basis and to be available to work beyond the scheduled shift as needed.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism with a customer-centric mindset.
- Must be a self-starter with sound problem-solving and excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Must be a team player.
- Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle is required.
- Knowledge of the following technologies is required: ASP.NET (C#), HTML, and JavaScript (including JavaScript frameworks).
- General knowledge of the following concepts and industry standards is preferred: object-oriented programming, design patterns, N-Tier apps, SDLC methodologies, and WC3 standards.
- Knowledge of PCI compliance, SharePoint, MVC architecture, CSS, RESTful Web Services, APIs, social media APIs preferred.
- Familiarity with the following toolsets preferred: Visual Studio and Team Foundation.
