Full-Time Water Engineer
Job Description
We are looking for a Water Engineer to join our team in Alexandria, Virginia. This role will be critical in the management and optimization of water treatment plants, ensuring that potable water is readily available to the community. The position involves comprehensive planning, evaluation, and implementation of water resource projects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the operation of water systems to ensure efficient delivery of potable water.
- Develop a comprehensive water resources and raw water master plan that incorporates financial, technical, and regulatory factors.
- Conduct detailed evaluations and studies for water projects, utilizing data analysis to inform decision-making.
- Study and assess hydrological factors affecting current and future water programs, including climate and environmental impacts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement improvements to existing water treatment processes.
- Ensure compliance with the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act and Overseas Environmental Baseline Guidance Document (OEBGD) criteria.
- Prepare and present technical reports and recommendations to stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
- Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project staff.
- Perform any additional responsibilities associated with this position as necessary to support the overall goals of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed Engineer with a specialization in hydrology and water resources.
- At least 5 years of experience in the design and construction of water treatment plants.
- Highly knowledgeable about water treatment processes and regulatory standards, including the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act and OEBGD criteria.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various project sites as required.
- Willing to work in Alexandria, Virginia.
