As a Warehouse Assistant, you will be expected to:
- Ensuring all orders are picked, ready for the collection of Sovini Trade Supplies customers.
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Replenishing stock in the correct warehouse/trade shop locations
- Completing warehousing duties as instructed by Senior Personnel.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of all products and materials (i.e. qualities, uses, sizes, quantities, availability etc.) and to understand what items / building materials are required for both Trade & Retail Customer’s needs.
- To operate the BISTRACK system without error and administer all transactions as percompany guidelines.
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- To meet appraisal targets and support the delivery and achievement of overall business objectives.
- Assisting where required, in the loading of Sovini Trade Supplies vehicles.

- Adhere with the Health and Safety at Work Act to take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts and omissions.

To be successful in a Warehouse Assistant role, the skills you will need:
- Counterbalance FLT License.
- Experience of working in a warehouse/builder’s yard environment, preparing sales orders, receiving deliveries, and controlling stock.
- Experience of using a dedicated ERP system used for all customer/supplier transactions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise and manage workload to meet strict deadlines.
- Self-motivated with enthusiasm, commitment and drive and ability to work under pressure and still produce a high standard of work.
- Good organisational and customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills, able to communicate across multiple channels including Microsoft Teams, Face to Face and Email.
Experience or Knowledge of the below would be advantageous but not essential:
- Achieved an accredited qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Relevant H&S qualifications / training.
- Knowledge of legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to warehouse operations
- A thorough understanding and strong commitment to Equal Opportunities Policy issues, demonstrating a commitment to working effectively with an Equal Opportunities Framework.
