Full-Time VP, Marketing Analytics Manager (Req#1514)

Job Description

We are looking for a marketing analytics manager to join the Eastern Marketing team. This individual will be responsible for accurate data collection, processing, modeling, analysis, and reporting across marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate has a knack for seeing solutions in sprawling data sets and the business mindset to convert insights into actionable, strategic opportunities for Eastern Bank.

The Marketing Analytics Manager will work closely with leaders across product, sales, and marketing to support and implement high-quality, data-driven decisions built to improve the incremental impact of our marketing campaigns. They will ensure data accuracy and consistent reporting by designing and creating optimal processes and procedures. They will generate and participate in the test and learn process across all channels. They will use data modeling, and other analytical techniques to interpret key findings from marketing and sales data and leverage these insights into initiatives that will support business outcomes.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing the marketing analytics strategy from campaign kickoff through implementation and performance reporting
  • Derive insights from both B2C and B2B marketing campaign data sets, providing context for findings, insights into exceptions and identifying patterns to improve marketing performance and understand attribution at all stages of the funnel (awareness, familiarity, consideration, conversion)
  • Establishing an operating structure that supports all reporting needs (weekly, quarterly, ad hoc) and maximizes the effectiveness of analytics enablement, delivery, and governance
  • Working on targeting and segmentation for owned channels (email, direct mail, organic social, etc.)
  • Work with digital marketers to define goals and make data-based recommendations for paid digital channels and campaigns
  • Develop campaign KPI and metrics (e.g., LTV, ROI, Payback) and drive analytic insights to strengthen revenue streams
  • Partnering with marketing strategists to develop segmentation approaches guided by customer journey and first party data
  • Partnering with the insights team to review data from qualitative and quantitative research and surveys
  • Managing the overall quality assurance process to ensure high quality, on-time deliverables
  • Building, developing, and maintaining data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics support that support key business decisions
  • Creation of storytelling reports and insights that analyze performance metrics
  • Extracting and manipulating data from various, disparate sources to uncover insights and opportunities for product and direct marketing applications
  • Developing a deep knowledge of the data structure, definitions, and intricacies specific to the bank

Education and Experience

  • 7+ years of demonstrated work experience in data analytics
  • Demonstrated past experience in marketing, performance measurement, and data analysis
  • Bachelor’s Degree in statistics, economics or related quantitative field required
  • Financial services experience a plus

Skills/Knowledge

  • Excellent storytelling: deep knowledge of the data partnered with ability to surface key insights and simplify complicated principles
  • Preference for a teamwork-driven environment
  • Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities
  • Working knowledge of data mining principles and collecting data from multiple data systems with a high level of proficiency in data extraction & manipulation
  • Strong SQL skills (should understand self-joins, aggregates, subqueries), ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries. Able to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation and able to quickly understand multiple data sources to develop methodology for joining data that will add value.
  • Understanding of foundational statistical concepts such as summary statistics, A/B & hypothesis testing, statistical power, and random sampling.
  • Experience with a variety of data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau etc.
  • Experience with digital analytics and dashboarding visualization tools such as Google Analytics, SA 360, etc.
  • Mastery in PowerPoint.
  • Exposure to Azure, Spark and Parquet files is a plus.
  • Comfortable working with large data sets and creating databases and dashboards using all relevant data to inform decisions
  • Experience using analytics techniques to contribute to company growth efforts, increasing revenue and other key business outcomes
  • Able to communicate, influence, and reason effectively with business and technical partners to deliver quality solutions to meet business objectives
  • Strong ability to plan and manage numerous processes and projects simultaneously
