Voids Supervisor

 

We are currently looking for a Voids Supervisor to join The Sovini Group.

As a Voids Supervisor, you will be expected to:

  • be responsible for the delivery repairs & maintenance
  • be responsible for the management and development of Operatives.
  • be responsible for the effective delivery of performance and budget monitoring
  • responsible for the management of employees including recruitment, employee development, motivation, briefing, quality, performance management, skills development and absence management for all staff.
  • be responsible for the management and monitoring of Health and Safety, ensuring that H&S policies and procedures are being complied with at all times, having particular responsibility for the management and monitoring of Health and Safety, CDM regulations & Asbestos Management in conjunction with other Business Mangers and Health and Safety Officer.
  • work with colleagues to effectively use all available resources to provide an effective service to maximise income and minimise costs.
  • optimise the performance of employees and ensure performance indicators achieve top quartile performance.
  • respond and deal with complaints and, in accordance with SPS complaints procedures, liaising with partners and customers where appropriate. To write correspondence as required.
  • co-operate with all Business Managers ensuring all financial information is delivered in a timely and regular manner.
  • manage budgets, provide reports and support the Operations manager at meetings as required.
  • carry out duties and oversee the effective implementation of the organisation’s policies and procedures on Health & Safety and Equality & Diversity taking account of the social inclusion agenda.
  • carry out any other responsibilities commensurate with the grade, as directed by the Management Team.
  • meet appraisal targets and support the delivery and achievement of overall business objectives
  • Promote good practice in working in various locations, remaining adaptable to suit the business needs.
  • Commit to equality and diversity and to promote non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of work undertaken.
  • Adhere with the Health and Safety at Work Act to take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts and omissions.

To be successful in a Voids Supervisor role, the skills you will need:   

  • Experience of working in repairs and maintenance with in social housing work
  • Management experience of reactive repairs and maintenance works delivery
  • Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
  • Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate proactive approach to the achievement of team goals
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised and demonstrate initiative and acceptance of responsibility.
  • Excellent organisation skills including the ability to prioritise and manage own workload, meet deadlines and achieve targets
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively develop and maintain teams and partnerships
  • Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and prioritise work to meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to present information or concepts coherently and relevant to the audience
  • Provide evidence of effective project planning, IT, management and operational delivery skills
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, team player ability to gain trust and confidence of staff and customers
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with other managers to develop effective working relationships
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of :
  • CDM Regulations
  • Health and Safety Legislation
  • Contract Management (D)
  • Current Building and Planning Regulations (D)

 

  • Evidence of commitment to personal and professional development
  • Flexibility in approach to work in terms of evening and weekends as required
  • Ability to travel to various locations using own transport.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate across multiple channels including Microsoft Teams, Face to Face and Email.

  • Ability to analyse data and produce reports on performance, identifying trends and recommending improvements.”

 

Experience or Knowledge of the below would be advantageous but not essential:

  • HNC in Construction & The built Environment or currently working towards qualifying.
  • Educated to degree level
  • Level 3 Management Qualification or equivalent
