Full-Time Vice President – GRC Project Manager
Job Description
BNY Mellon’s Risk and Compliance function is seeking a Governance, Risk and Controls (GRC) Project Manager to support the Head of GRC in partnering with stakeholders across the three lines of defense to develop and articulate BNY Mellon’s governance, risk management and compliance controls framework, strategy, and ecosystem. This role will pursue agreement on a consistent approach and standards used to effectively assess, monitor, and mitigate risks across the enterprise. This will require integration of multiple elements across processes like risk identification and assessment, risk appetite, stress testing, risk aggregation and enterprise-wide reporting to inform strategic decision-making
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for helping drive the content, delivery, and the change management process for multiple GRC work streams, as follows:
- Coordinate and schedule project tasks, maintaining working relationships with stakeholder functional areas in business and IT
- Fulfil program governance requirements including senior stakeholder reporting, steering forum management, and administration of key program documents
- Oversight and coordination of operationalization activities including procedure and policy changes
- Function as primary point of contact for project issues, changes to project scope, development and execution
- Manage the production of program and project management artifacts, including charters, requirements, implementation timelines, testing strategies and user adoption plans
- Coordination with other Second Line and enterprise-wide programs/projects and partner with stakeholders across the firm (Technology, Operations, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Front Office) to identify and track key activities, milestones, risks and dependencies
- Support senior Program Managers executing change initiatives. Manage and support management information reporting to senior stakeholders, including transparency in status communication and advising on ad-hoc senior stakeholder requests
- Facilitate workshops and lead working groups with senior attendees
- Ensure neutrality position is maintained to take independent view on status and risk/issue management to bring best solution for the firm. Identify and mitigate program risks.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Strategic thinking / problem solving skills to facilitate the identification of problems, the design and evaluation of options and execution of solutions
- Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Flexible and adaptable with the ability to coordinate completion of multiple tasks and effectively manage time
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in interactions with staff, peers, and senior management; ability to prepare executive level presentations
- Fast-paced, high-energy, change oriented and is able to work independently
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or in a business-related field or equivalent work experience
- 8+ years of relevant experience driving change projects in the Financial Institution practice at a tier 1 management consultancy, or within the technology or strategy organizations of a systemically significant capital markets business
