Full-Time Veterans Case Manager
Job Description
ABOUT THE POSITION: Provide trauma-informed case management services designed to prevent homelessness and stabilize housing for tenants who have been homeless. This includes assessment, information and referral, goal setting, and direct advocacy, cooperative case planning and coordination of services. Assist and empower residents to make necessary connections with community and providers in order to stabilize their lives. This is a unionized position, represented by Local 8 of the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU).
ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Compass Veterans Center: Shoreline (SVC) provides permanent supportive housing and case management for 21 male-identifying and 4 female-identifying individuals who are Veterans. Through a Trauma-Informed Care lens, we provide a safe and welcoming space for Veterans to create stability, hope, and community. In keeping with Compass’ core values, we work for and alongside the Veterans to improve their circumstances, while simultaneously advocating for societal change toward equity and justice. Staff adopt a supportive, non-judgmental stance, providing residents with opportunities to make better decisions, set goals, and motivate residents along their pathway of change.

LOCATION: Shoreline, WA
REPORTS TO: Program Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 10am-6:30pm; with monthly staff meetings on the last Wednesday 4-5:30pm
SALARY RANGE: $19.71 (Level 1) or $21.31 (Level 2 – MSW or other relevant clinical master’s degree) per hour

QUALIFICATIONS
• A Bachelor’s degree is strongly desired, Master’s degree preferred in social work or a related field. Or relevant work experience, certificate and/or equivalent continuing professional development or education.
• A minimum of 1-year experience in case management experience, desired.
• 2+ years’ experience working in a human services setting related to housing and homelessness, desired.
• Awareness and/or training around issues of equity, intersectionality, and belonging.
• Current WA State Food Handlers Permit, desired (If not current, will be sponsored within 1-month of hire).
• Demonstrated familiarity with issues of homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, sexual assault, and/or domestic violence, required.
