Full-Time Value Stream Manager

Leggett & Platt is seeking a Value Stream Manager for our Precision Hydraulic Cylinders location in Beulaville, North Carolina. For over 45 years, Precision Hydraulic Cylinders, has built a reputation as a world-class hydraulic cylinder manufacturer through our superior quality control and innovation. PHC is a leading supplier of hydraulic cylinders for material handling, construction, and transportation markets. We design, engineer, and manufacture single acting, double acting, telescopic, and tie-rod cylinders for a variety of mobile equipment applications. With manufacturing locations in the U.S., U.K., and India, we are positioned to serve OEM customers on a global scale.
What you will be doing:
- Manage all aspects of production for multiple Value Streams by working with and coordinating across all departments to ensure Value Stream has everything needed to work safely, make production requirements, and produce conforming products.
- Perform all administrative functions for areas of responsibility including time and attendance tracking, reviews and disciplinary documentation, distribution of training materials, work instruction approvals, approvals of department purchases and expenses, and report out at Production Meetings.
- Support Production by driving safety and 5S for areas of responsibility. Help resolve major machine and throughput challenges and communicate to Plant Manager. Ensure staffing is adequate and perform interviews and training for new team members. Help eliminate obstacles that are preventing needed throughput, requesting tooling and programming needs, as necessary. Help ensure Quality policies are being followed. Support employee morale for all areas and be a positive influencer. Update Work Instructions and Quality Alerts.
- Support Continuous Improvement by being actively involved in improvement activities for areas of responsibility like Industrial Engineering projects and LEAN Manufacturing events.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Strong manufacturing background in high volume environment with high number of SKU’s.
- 5 years of excellent leadership, communication, and training skills.
- College degree or working towards college degree.
- Proven Safety orientation and system implementation.
- Demonstrated Quality improvements and achievements.
- Sound mechanical and technical knowledge, along with understanding of machining processes.
- Experienced in driving Lean Manufacturing Initiatives.
- Project management skills a plus.
- Computer competence with Office and MRP systems.
