Touchstone are working in partnership with Mid Yorkshire NHS Teaching Trust (MYTT) at Pinderfields Hospital and Dewsbury & District Hospital, to embed youth work teams in the Urgent Care and Emergency Departments at the trust, to engage with young people aged 11-25 who present at Urgent Care and Emergency Departments, who have been present with or are impacted by violence or exploitation.
Urgent Care Youth Workers will provide a hospital-based intervention service that supports young people following presentation at hospital and prior to discharge with an injury caused by violence or exploitation. Additionally, they will provide support in the community to support young people to engage with support to reduce escalation and risk.
