Full-Time Undergraduate Program Coordinator

Job Description

Coordinate and manage the new B.S. and B.A. programs in Informatics. This is a new position and will involve launching and then coordinating the Informatics program.

  • Coordinate outreach and recruitment presentations for prospective students and families, admitted students, high school visits, and other populations. Serve as primary point of contact for prospective students and their parents. Organize and hold information sessions for prospective students. Develop and maintain a system for tracking prospective student contacts.

  • Organize and participate in all aspects of first-year and transfer orientation, Honors Day, and Family Weekend.

  • Develop a program of student retention, development, and enrichment that aligns with School of Information’s strategic goals. Develop and lead programming for student retention and success initiatives. Develop, administer, and explore models to monitor student retention, graduation rates, and diversity.

  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate academic advisors. Develop advising aids. Apply standard evaluation procedures to analyze data and monitor, evaluate, and document course, student, and instructor outcomes. Track and report student academic progress.

  • Oversee the Associate Academic Advisor in the development of the undergraduate community. Plan and participate in student success activities.

  • Collaborate with School of Information’s Development and Alumni Relations Office and Career Development Office staff to promote Informatics major to external constituencies and prospective employers and to ensure student success in placements.

  • Assist the Director of Undergraduate Studies and the Undergraduate Faculty Liaison in working with faculty to develop course and program outcomes as well as assessment measures for undergraduate courses and for the program as a whole. Develop and implement standards for attainment of program goals and objectives. Develop methods of instructional support and course implementation. Create presentations and reports on the development of the undergraduate program. Serve on the Undergraduate Studies Committee.

  • Serve as primary contact between the School of Information and administrative units across campus such as the School of Undergraduate Studies and the Office of Enrollment Management. Liaise with the Office of Admissions to track, analyze, and report applicant data; design, develop, and implement systems for evaluation of internal transfer students. Approve applications to the Informatics minor.

  • Work with the Director of Communications to develop advertising campaigns that promote awareness across campus and beyond and drive prospective student interest in the programs.
