Full-Time Trust & Estate Manager (Req#2742)

Job Description

Oversees general administration of probate estates and related trusts in accordance with Bank’s policies and procedures, as well as applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations. Oversight will be provided by supervisor and fiduciary team, as well as Compliance and line of business management.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Performs all aspects of trust and estate settlement where the Bank is serving as fiduciary, including trustee of settlement trust and personal representative of a probate estate.
  • Manages identification, possession, and valuation of estate assets, beneficiary and interested party interaction, establishment, funding, splitting, and termination of estate related accounts, preparation of estate tax returns, and probate filings.
  • Manages assigned trust relationships, including all aspects of opening, administering, and closing of trust and fiduciary business.
  • Assists clients in person, via telephone, and by email with any ongoing client service activities.
  • Oversees set-up of new clients on trust accounting system to ensure accuracy of mailings, tax reports and statements, and account information.
  • Assists with business development opportunities specific to trust and estate settlement.
  • Engages with other lines of business within Bank to fully serve clients’ financial needs.
  • Participates in required annual administrative reviews of accounts.
  • Provides expertise, guidance, and skill development support to other team members.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in estate settlement and trust administration.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and client service skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including office software such as word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications.
  • Ability to prioritize, juggle a variety of tasks, and interact with staff at all levels.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude, team player, and willingness to accept new assignments and pitch-in.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as a member of a larger team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in pre-law, business, finance, or equivalent education.
  • Hybrid work environment with home office in Boston, MA
