- Install signs in the performance of maintenance activities involving installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic control devices along the Division 5 state road network of 7 counties.
- Perform maintenance activities including posting regulatory ordinances (speed limits, no parking zones, etc.), installing traffic warning signs, flagging, installing historical makers, repairing/replacing damaged/weathered signs, managing speed zones, performing vegetation removal, installing road closures, and properly signing detour routes.
- Perform annual nighttime sign reviews for the condition of sign reflectivity.
- Maintain documentation to develop annual maintenance plans.
- Perform snow and ice control during storms.
- Maintain inventory of all signs and materials on the truck, including posts, nuts, bolts, and specialized hardware for historical markers and decorative sign posts.
- Experience in 2+ pieces of Category B equipment: paint trucks, pre-line paint machines, asphalt distributors, asphalt mixers, asphalt patchers, crack sealing machines, ditching machines, force feed loaders, front end loaders, lube trucks, asphalt maintainers, post drivers, skid steers, street sweepers, tandem dump trucks, tractor “A” boom mowers, trucks with aerial devices.
- Experience installing traffic control, such as detours and lane closures.
- Basic Incident Response experience.
- Customer service experience with good communications skills.
- Record keeping experience, such as tracking staff and equipment time and recording material quantities used.
- Good eyesight (glasses are okay).
- Safety toe footwear.
- Ability to work in extreme temperature conditions and walk/stand for long times on uneven/sloping terrain and around high traffic volumes.
- Ability to safely operate Class A Commercial Motor vehicle within 360 days of hire.
- May be required to perform heavy lifting.
- We will conduct a pre-employment drug test and background check with your previous employers for the past 2 years about controlled substances and alcohol abuse.
- High school/GED diploma, and
- 3+ years of relevant experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
