Career Path Services is looking for a Training Navigator in Spokane to join our team, to be an ambassador of hope. As the Training Navigator for the Washington Jobs Initiative (WJI) Healthcare and Construction Talent Pipeline Development Project, this role focuses on coordinating with trainees, providing support services, and fostering partnerships to facilitate job placements. With a focus on participant success, you will play a vital role in coordinating training activities, addressing barriers to employment, and connecting trainees with job opportunities in the healthcare and construction sectors.

ABOUT THE JOB

The major responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Cohort Facilitation/Support:

  • Coordinate with identified employers/training programs to ensure shared understanding on course timelines, qualifications, and deliverables.
  • Determine appropriateness for program; enroll and explain program participation requirements.
  • Customize service plans for participants using program model service components and help participants progress through their service plan/cohort training.
  • Assist participants in identifying strengths to overcome barriers that lead to successful completion of program and employment through one-on-one coaching during course of program.
  • Understand the program performance measures and customizes retention services to ensure a good return on investment.
  • Conduct timely, accurate and complete data input for cohort registrations and enrollments, status changes, exits/terminations, and post exit MIS in the division’s operating system.
  • Provide wrap-around support services to mitigate barriers to employment and to increase the ability to complete their training activities.
  • Develop, expand, and maintain working relationships with partners, employers, and fund sources that achieve desired outcomes by identifying needs, developing solutions, establishing goals, and executing plans. Timely, consistent, and professional communication is essential to the success of the program.
  • Participate in training and peer-to-peer learning with local partnerships throughout the state and identify positive practices for reproduction and continuous improvement.

EXPERIENCE/POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two-three years of experience working with workforce development, social services, job placement, job development, sales, job coaching, employment and training, or related field.
  • Experience in program outreach and coordination, training delivery, job development and program development.
  • Use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; LinkedIn, and other business-related networking applications, as appropriate.
  • Flexibility in working some evening and/or weekend hours
  • Must be able to work in a culturally diverse and fast-paced environment and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and cultural competency.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Social Work, Communication, Workforce Development, Psychology, or Sociology.
  • Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP).
  • Over three years of demonstrated success in a performance-based system and one-year of experience working with employers, job placement, job development, sales, workforce development, job coaching, employment, and training.
  • Demonstrated success working with people from a variety of backgrounds which may include disabilities, criminal history, homeless, family violence, poverty, etc.
  • Experience in public speaking and presentations to a diverse community.

Primary Location: Spokane WorkSource
Salary: Full Salary Range is $53,000-78,000 annually. Most starting salaries will be at or near the base of that range, DOE.
