Full-Time Traffic Manager

jkdesign – Posted by jkdesign Somerset County, New Jersey, United States

Job Description

JK is looking for a versatile, detail-oriented, expert multitasker to become our steward of project excellence. You’ll help ensure projects are resourced efficiently, keep an eagle eye on work in progress, and nurture relationships with vendors, freelancers, and other key external partners.

We’re a mid-sized agency in the heart of NJ, with creative and strategic capabilities that rival the big NYC shops. Making connections is in our DNA: to our clients, to the people who matter most to them, and to each other. We look at every project as a chance to build a partnership—and create an informed, inspired (and often unconventional) solution that makes an impact.

If this sounds like your kind of opportunity… read on!

This is a chance to roll up your sleeves and take on a variety of creative and administrative functions—supporting our group creative director and empowering our entire creative team to deliver consistently high-quality work. This position requires both creative and project management skills and a true collaborative spirit.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the creative and account teams to ensure that project timelines are met, resources are assigned appropriately, and best practices are followed throughout the creative and production life cycle.

  • Oversee resource allocation and monitor team bandwidth.
  • Run daily standup and review of active projects with creative and account teams.
  • Document and promote best practices and work with team leaders to develop more efficient ways of working.

  • Track and approve contractor, vendor, and other invoices in coordination with account and creative leaders.
  • Track and coordinate creative team PTO requests and approvals.
  • Accurately estimate design and production projects.
  • Collaborate with account team members as needed throughout the project life cycle from estimating through project delivery.
  • Coordinate archiving of completed project files from file server and within project management software.
  • Maintain freelancer and vendor databases in collaboration with other internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all creative deliverables are consistent with client brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to interpret client feedback and ensure quality control for all projects.

Expectations

  • Facilitate and champion collaboration, inclusion, and mutual respect throughout the creative process, promoting open communication among all team members.
  • Communicate and collaborate seamlessly with team members across all departments and disciplines.
  • Communicate confidently and professionally with clients, vendors, and other external partners.
  • Keep assigned creative and account leads informed in a timely, regular, and proactive manner of project status and challenges/problems as they arise.
  • Be accountable for working within budgeted hours for all projects.
  • Maintain an efficient workflow in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in production or traffic management/oversight.
  • Exceptional Mac skills and familiarity with project management software.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in engaging and managing vendors, freelancers, and other external partners.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines (e.g., design, copy, motion graphics, live video production, digital marketing).
  • A working knowledge of design and production applications such as PowerPoint, Word, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign and ability to preflight and release jobs to printers or clients are a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize competing deadlines and deliverables on an ongoing basis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Driven, proactive, enthusiastic team player who thrives in a collaborative culture.
