Full-Time Tenure Track in Finance and Management
Job Description
Elmira College, the first college to offer a comprehensive curriculum for women, and home of the Center for Mark Twain Studies, is a small, well-established, residential, liberal arts college in a pleasant community in the Finger Lakes region of New York State (county population 100,000).
We are seeking an outstanding candidate for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in finance and management beginning date July 2024.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Teach a variety of finance and management courses including principles of management, operations management, organizational behavior, corporate strategy, and international business, financial management, risk management, courses in portfolio theory, and electives in finance.
- Candidates must demonstrate a genuine desire to teach and participate fully in a liberal arts environment that emphasizes close student-faculty interaction. Participation in academic and career advising and engagement in scholarly activities is expected.
- Opportunities to create new courses and teach in the College’s online and graduate programs are available.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MBA and several years of relevant work experience.
- D.B.A. or Ph.D. in business administration is highly desirable.
- Certifications or relevant designations are desirable, such as chartered financial analyst (CFA), certified financial planner (CFP), certified management accounting (CMA), and/or certified public accountant (CPA).
- Understanding of actuarial science and certifications, excellence in teaching, and confessional experience working in the fields of finance and actuarial science is highly desirable.
- A positive and supportive attitude with students, colleagues, and regional and national community stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, organizational and time management skills.
