About the School:
The School of Engineering and Information Technology (SEIT) is seeking applications for a full-time Technical Officer. The School offers programs in electrical, mechanical, aeronautical, and civil engineering as well as in aviation, information technology and cyber security to graduates and professionals who will be Australia’s future technology decision makers

About the Role:
Role: Technical Officer (Electronics)
Salary: Broadband Level 5/6
Level 5: $ 78,130 – $ 88,407 plus 17% Superannuation
Level 6: $ 91,472 – $ 97,579 plus 17% Superannuation
Term: Full Time, 35hrs
Employment type: Continuing
Location: Canberra, ACT
The Technical Officer (Electronics) sits within the School of Engineering and Information Technology (SEIT) and the Technical Support Group (TSG) which is responsible for the delivery of engineering and technical support to the teaching and research activities within SEIT.
The position provides technical support to the teaching and research activities within the school, principally through design, development, fabrication and commissioning of electronic circuit boards, equipment and systems.
This Technical Officer role reports to the laboratories Task Supervisor Scheduler. At the direction of their supervisor the position may also be required to report to another member of the academic or professional staff regarding a particular task or project.
Our Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be knowledgeable and comfortable around the design and repair of analogue or digital printed circuit boards and electronic equipment
- Have an aptitude for planning tasks in a workshop or laboratory
- Have experience in embedded microprocessor/microcontroller and/or computer programming

The successful candidate will be required to work from the UNSW Canberra campus. To be successful you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. UNSW is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
