The Nevada Center of Applied Research (NCAR) at the University of Nevada, Reno is seeking candidates for a Technical Coordinator.  This is a full-time, administrative faculty position.  The incumbent will be responsible for developing and administrating the University of Nevada, Reno’s (UNR) Entrepreneurial Laboratory System within NCAR and ensure affiliate companies and entrepreneurs are provided with a competitive infrastructure and services to excel in their research, development, and commercialization. Additionally, the Technical Coordinator will work collaboratively with companies, entrepreneurs, and faculty to initiate, enable and nurture corporate relationships and coordinate research initiatives and grants. The Coordinator will also use software dedicated to affiliates for billing and inventories, assist with management of iLab software, an institutional Laboratory Management System Administration and Billing Management, and collaborate with the NCAR Director on grant administration and outreach initiatives. The Coordinator may travel on a limited basis.  The position reports directly to NCAR Director.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and two years of related work experience; OR a Master’s degree and one year of related work experience.

Related Experience:  Laboratory and/or research facility management. Multi-disciplinary research; science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education.  iLab system experience or other lab management system.
